Patient Comments: PKD - Autosomal Recessive Treatment

What treatments were effective with your case, or the case of someone you know, for autosomal recessive PKD?

Comment from: Mom17, 13-18 Male (Caregiver) Published: January 27

My son was diagnosed with autosomal recessive PKD as a newborn. He was having another surgery at the time and they removed the kidney. It was much enlarged and was not functioning at all at the time of the surgery. He has not had any problems since and he is now 17 years. I do wonder if years down the road he would have problems with the healthy kidney.
