I am a 37 year old female. I have had hip pain since an accident at 16.My pain started out (2009) as a burn in the lower back. 3 months later I couldn't sit up in bed or rollover. I had shooting pains down my leg especially the left one. My left foot was numb. I actually broke a toe and didn't know it. That's how numb! After an MRI, I was diagnosed with cracked vertebra; pinched nerves caused by a grade 3 spondololisthesis. I opted for surgery. I had a spinal fusion with all the hardware. The sharp leg pain stopped, my hip stopped hurting, and I can feel my feet! The only drawback is that now I have some nerve pain in my legs, burning and an ache, but it is well worth it to be rid of the rest. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I have been getting physical therapy for a pinched nerve for seven weeks. I had pain in my neck, shoulder, arm, elbow, and tingling in my index finger. I just started with anti-inflammatory meds, along with physical therapy. My range of motion has increased, but the pain is still present. It eases, and then returns. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I nodded off in a low-back chair and my head snapped backward. Gradually, I felt pain first on my right shoulder, down to my tricep, and to my hand. On the other side I felt the same thing. This went on for a couple of months before I decided to stretch my neck to my chest and rotated it slowly to both sides. The pain is decreasing gradually. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I have been being treated for a herniated disk of my L5/S1 since 7/09. I injured my back taking care of a 750 lb. man. Symptoms: severe lower back pain, shooting pain down the left leg into foot, numbness around the area and the leg. Treatment: physical therapy 1 1/2 years, epidural injections, cortizone shots, pain meds. I had 4 MRI's in the past 2 years. Now I have new symptoms tingling in the foot(sleep), pressure in the back with the old symptoms. Had an EMG done and found out I now have a pinched nerve of the L4/S1. Now I am being referred to a surgeon. I wonder if I may have caused all this extra damage because of all the procedures that were done to me. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I have numbness from my right bottom down the back of my leg to the heel. Every now and again, I experience contraction of the leg muscle from a pinched nerve which is very very painful. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I had a horseriding accident wherein the horse fell on top of me and rolled across my ribs. I had recovered from that and had little pain after facet injections. An MRI revealed that I have herniated disks and a fracture in my spine. But I was okay with that. I was not in a wheelchair as predicted, even 25 years later. However, I was in a car accident last fall and can barely walk now due to a pinched nerve in my lower back. I am thinking the change is because one of my herniated disks has ruptured, pressing on the nerve. Meds help some, but only for awhile and they impeed my ability to read and do my college school work. I am currently seeking care from an orthopedic surgeon but am scared that it may not help but cause scar tissue pain. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I am a 31 year old female with an active lifestyle. I began to see a chiropractor for the pain in my neck and left arm. Besides adjusting my spine, she also does some electrical stimulation of the area, and traction on my neck. I do a number of different stretches 2-3 times a day, drink TONS of water, and apply ice when the pain is bad. This has really helped, though sitting in the car is still painful. She mentioned that when the source of my pain is no longer my arm, but only in one spot on my neck that I will be very close to recovery.
