OFLOXACIN-EAR SOLUTION (cont.)
PRECAUTIONS: Before using ofloxacin, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or other quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin), or if you have any other allergies. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your entire medical history, especially of: other ear problems. Prolonged or repeated use of antibiotics may result in a secondary infection. Use for the prescribed period of time only. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. When taken in oral form, ofloxacin passes into breast milk. It is not known if ofloxacin passes into breast milk after using the ear drop form. Due to potential risks to the infant, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: other ear drops. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: This medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. A different medication may be necessary in those cases.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store the regular bottle (5ml and 10ml size) at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Brief storage between 59-86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) is permitted. Store the single-use bottles at room temperature between 59 and 77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C). Keep away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
