It is used to prevent chest pain (angina). HOW TO USE: This is a transmucosal (buccal) tablet designed to slowly dissolve in the mouth. Do not chew or swallow this. Place the tablet in your mouth under the upper lip or between the cheek and gum. It will dissolve and be absorbed into your body over a 3-5 hour period. Use this exactly as prescribed. Do not use this more often, increase your dose or stop using this without consulting your doctor. You can use a tablet 5 to 10 minutes before an event that causes chest pain. Do not swallow the tablet. Use a new tablet if you accidentally swallow the first. The tablet will dissolve faster if touched with the tongue or if you drink a hot liquid. Try to avoid this. Do not take at bedtime.
