Imitrex is the only pill I take for migraines. It takes 1-2 hours to take effect. Also, Esgic is a good one, but be careful not to take it for a long time, as I have found that it causes rebound headaches. Migraines affect my eyes, as well. Was this comment helpful?Yes

Starting in 1982 I suffered for years with migraine headaches with auras, the non-relenting nausea, sensitivity to light and flashing lights during my first pregnancy. With medication not an option during those long nine months. After delivery my doctor put me on Effexor XR (extended relief). No more pain or nausea. However, the auras continued which I could deal with better than the awful pain. Then one month the auras stopped. I'm now living with better attitude! Good Luck to all I've been there!
