In 2005 I started experiencing pain in my right side, so I told my gastroenterologist about it and he ordered an ultrasound which showed that I had a tumor on my liver, had a biopsy done and it showed that my tumor was benign. My AFP test never was elevated but my LFT continuously was elevated. I had surgery in 2006 to have the tumor removed and the pathology report showed that it was now cancerous. I went on for 5 yrs., having follow up appointments with my oncologist, having blood work done, doing ultrasounds and CT scan and all returned normal, even the ultrasound that I had just had a couple of months before I was re-diagnosed in March 2011, this time I had 5 tumors growing on my liver, I never even experienced any signs or symptoms to indicate that my cancer had returned. I never thought that I would be going thru this again. Was this comment helpful?Yes

A shock to me also, told I had 6 months to live, liver and pancreas well advanced in June 2011. I started chemo in July, now it is December last of 6mths treatments. The MRI showed a decrease in Oct of tumors, next week another MRI, so hoping for good results before xmas and I'm not going anywhere soon I recon. I have continual REKI healing and Foot Detox Spa to keep the toxins down. At the moment feeling good and I'm able to keep all emotional levels pretty ok with the help of Reki. Wishing you all better health. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I am 14 years old and the doctors have just found out that I have liver damage. Now they are doing further investigation. I have got most of the symptom of liver cancer and the pain on my right side just below the ribs is unbelievable. When I have the pain all I do is vomit and just think I don't have long left. I really can't take all this stress as my hair is starting to fall out and my exams have started as well. I have never drunk in my whole life. This is the worst life a 14 year old girl could have. My last wish is to see my hero Beyoncé hopefully I will live to see her live in concert. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I'm writing to alert you to a little-talked about side effect of radioembolization treatment for liver cancer that is causing my dad to suffer right now. My dad had colon cancer which spread to his liver. The colon cancer is gone as a result of chemo and radiation treatments, but the liver cancer is still there. He tried a couple ablation procedures which helped a little, then had radioembolization (putting radioactive molecules into tiny glass beads, sticking the beads next to the small cancer lesions and hoping they kill the cancer). He underwent this treatment in April and after a month, felt a little better and the ct scans showed slight reduction. We did a 2nd treatment in early August and its October now and he's still suffering from the after-effects. His stomach is constantly in pain constantly! He's nauseous, can't keep any food down, and constantly tired because he can't sleep well with the pain in his stomach. Before the treatment, the dr didn't say anything about possible stomach side effects (honestly though, it probably wouldn't have mattered...there's always some side effect(s) to elect), and later in the fine print of the brochure on the treatment, he saw that radioembolization sometimes leaves patient with permanent stomach damage. Just great! I guess it's just a pretty touch scenario all the way around. Best of luck to you all and please know the above before considering radioembolization (esp multiple treatments w/in a few months of each other). Was this comment helpful?Yes

I am 59 years old. In September of 2010 I was diagnosed with pancreatitis. I don't drink and had my gallbladder removed in 1994. The doctors said they have no idea why I got it. I have been getting sicker over the last six months, and have been hospitalized five times per month. I've lost lots of weight since I was first diagnosed and am sick constantly. I feel like I am a walking skeleton. I have had to give up work totally. I've had MRIs, CT scans, blood tests, X-rays – nothing showed up other than the pancreatitis. In July of 2013 I was told I had cancer (spots) on my liver. They said I had 10 lesions on my liver ranging in size from 1 cm to 2 cm. In my book, those aren't “spots.” I start therapy next week and am hopeful it will reduce the lesions. I can't eat and the painkillers keep me doped up all the time. I am not ready to die and hope that the cancer does not spread. At least one good thing: I don't have any cancer in my pancreas.
