Levofloxacin (Levaquin) is an antibiotic for treating bacterial infections of the sinuses, skin, lungs, ears, bones, airways, and joints. Levaquin is often used to treat urinary tract infections, prostatitis, diarrhea caused by E. coli, ampylobacter jejuni, Shigella, and various obstetric infections such as mastitis. Side effects, drug interactions, warnings and precautions, and efficacy during pregnancy information should be reviewed prior to taking this medication.
