Abrasion: An abrasion or "excoriation" is a wearing away of the upper layer of skin as a result of applied friction force. In dentistry an "abrasion" is the wearing away of the tooth substance.
Duct: A passage or a tube with well-defined walls suitable for the conveyance of air or liquids, as the bile duct and the pancreatic duct. See the entire definition of Duct
Horizontal: In anatomy, a plane passing through the standing body. A person lying on a bed is considered in a horizontal position. See the entire definition of Horizontal
Isolate: A group in which mating is always between members of the group. For example, the Amish.
Lead poisoning: An environmental hazard capable of causing brain damage. In the US lead poisoning is formally defined as having at least 10 micrograms of lead per deciliter of blood. (The average level of lead, for people ages 1 to 70, is 2.3 micrograms.) See the entire definition of Lead poisoning
Lead-based paint: Paint or other surface coatings that, by definition, contain lead in excess of 1.0 milligrams per square centimeter (mg/cm2) 0.5 percent by weight.
Leaded:1. Framed, covered, or weighted with lead. As a leaded window. 2. Added in the form of tetraethyl lead as an anti-knock agent to gasoline (petrol). See: Lead poisoning.
Poisoning: Taking a substance that is injurious to health or can cause death. Poisoning is still a major hazard to children, despite child-resistant (and sometimes adult-resistant) packaging and dose-limits per container. See the entire definition of Poisoning
