What was the cause of your knee pain?

I have pain due to overuse and the type of job that I was on. I have had treatments of Supartz, torn meniscus surgeries on both knees. I was fine for a few years and all of the sudden, chronic pain, even after cortisone treatments. I can barely walk and don't know what to do now!

I am a female who just turned 54. About 7 months ago, I started having pain in both knees when I squat on the floor. It hurts in the center, back of the knee. If I do a deep squat, it feels like ligaments pulling in the front of the knee. I don't have any swelling or pain otherwise. I also have a hard time standing from a squatting position.

I recently started jogging and for some reason it was unapparent to me that this would cause some injury. I am very motivated to lose weight and have no resources for a gym membership at this time. I jogged 5 miles every other day and ride my bicycle up to 14 miles on the days I am not jogging. Unfortunately, my body was not happy with this. I have decided to take it slower. Ice my knees, and do strength exercises for long term knee health.

I've had numerous falls (the last in Jan 2011), and usually land on the left knee. I now have severe intermittent pain that occurs after walking a short distance. The pain is on the outside lower portion of the left knee and also below the kneecap. I also have psoriatic arthritis and chronic bursitis, so lots of possibilities for the cause! Had an MRI yesterday.

I have trouble nailing it down. Sometimes it feels like I am kneeling on glass in the lower part of my knee cap. The other pain runs over the top part of my knee cap it is not tender to touch only when pressure is applied to them.

My knee became painful after playing soccer. It is not so bad during the day when walking or sitting and even exercising, but is very painful at night when lying down. The pain is on the inside of the knee.

I had knee surgery May 2008 and still continue to have pain and stiffness. I had a full replacement and did all the therapy but continue to have pain daily. I had the other knee done in September 2010 and again I am suffering with daily pain. Both Doctors said my surgery was successful and the knee is in perfect order. I have tried Advil, Celebrex and other medicines and do not wish to take so much medicine.
