How long did the symptoms of your stomach flu last? Was there anything in particular that helped with pain/symptom relief?

I think it all started when one night I ate a home delivered chicken caesar salad which was practically drenched in its salad sauce. The next day my stomach ached a little but got progressively worse during the day till I didn't want to eat anything at night. But nonetheless I was tempted that night and ate a little bit of fish and shrimp. About an hour afterwards I felt as though my stomach was inflating or something which seemed to be caused by too many acids in my stomach though I had, had nothing acidic that day. I went home and took some basic medicine. I slept and woke up at 3 in the morning. Nearly 24 hrs after I had eaten the salad the previous day. I felt extremely nauseous by then and vomited only once for 15 minutes. I also had very watery diarrhea. I was exhausted by then so I went to bed. The next few days I was extremely tired as well and tried to eat nothing but dry bread and plain rice (safe, right?). I did not vomit again though I did have stomach aches and diarrhea twice after (though not as watery or strong, since I took an Egyptian diarrhea medicine called antinal). Also, whenever I felt as though my stomach was inflating (acidic) I would take basic medicine like Tums. It's been 8 days now since it started and I nearly feel normal, though I am still afraid to eat whatever I want. My stomach always seems to be warning me.

Mine started this afternoon; I woke up and was fine for a few hours. Then I was cold, where I couldn't warm up. The nausea started and any smells made me want to throw up. I now have frequent diarrhea and a headache. I haven't eaten all day, just tiny sips of water and Tums for the nausea.

The first day, my stomach hurt all day, but I was able to eat. Then, that night, I felt really nauseous, and threw-up. I have not thrown up again, but my stomach has hurt ever since, and I have not been able to eat anything. I slept for 20 of 24 hours after the first throwing up, but now if I walk around I break out in a sweat and feel weak. I am going on day three now. This is very unusual for me. I wonder if I should see a doctor or let it work itself out.
