I have just been diagnosed with a gall bladder full of gall stones after reocurring pain exactly where my pancreas is. The pain was so extreme it was very similar to the contractions of first stage labour with severe vomitting .I have a low fat diet and don't know how this happened. I am 47 years old and there is a family history.Getting surgery in New Zealand could take forever..... Was this comment helpful?Yes

Right after I had my son last year I was diagnosed with Gallstones. The doctors agreed that the Gallstones were what was causing so much pain during the pregnancy. They said I should have surgery to have them taken out because I had so many. I opted for a more natural approach. For two days straight (because I was nursing) I had nothing but all-natural apple juice, and apple sauce. Then I started drinking natural apple cider vinegar after every meal and taking multi-enzyme vitamins. A year later, I have only one attack and that was because I became lazy about my diet and exercise. Talk to your doctor about the best treatment. You will be surprised how many doctors really don't like giving medicine out. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I had gall stones and had them removed in Aug. although I am feeling better (a lot) than I did then, I still have trouble with my diet. People told me I would be able to go back to eating what I did before. NOT TRUE! I still watch what I am eating or drinking. It was a wakeup call to take care of my diet and me. I still would like a list of better foods for this post surgery diet. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I had my gallbladder removed surgically eight days ago. The operation went smoothly, however one of the surgeons told me that many fell out and they had to remove some stones one by one. My recovery has been swift and pain free. I have had virtually no ill effects from the operation. I was in hospital overnight and left next day. I was fine at home, only tired. I feel better without my gall bladder as it caused a great deal of pain. I had keyhole surgery. I now intend to watch my diet more closely and have little fat in my diet.
