SIDE EFFECTS: Nasal burning, stinging, dryness or sneezing may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Very unlikely but report promptly: a fast or irregular heartbeat, headache, dizziness, trouble sleeping, nervousness, blurred vision, drowsiness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before using this drug, tell your doctor your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies), narrow angle glaucoma, certain nasal conditions (rhinitis sicca), high blood pressure, high thyroid function, severe diabetes, heart disease. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Limit alcohol intake, as it may aggravate drug side effects. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness (e.g., driving), since this drug may cause drowsiness. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Drugs in this product may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. This drug is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: MAO inhibitors (e.g., tranylcypromine, phenelzine, moclobemide, selegiline, furazolidone, linezolid). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly. Symptoms of an overdose may include drowsiness.
NOTES: This medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to others. A different medication may be needed in those cases.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
