GENERIC NAME: FRAMYCETIN-GRAMICIDIN-PHENYLEPHRINE - NASAL (fram-eye-SEAT-in/gram-ih-SYE-din/fen-ill-EFF-rin)Medication Uses | How To Use | Side Effects | Precautions | Drug Interactions | Overdose | Notes | Missed Dose | Storage USES: This medication is used to treat conditions of the sinuses or nose, including infection, congestion and post-surgery care. Also, this product is used to reduce the spread of certain bacteria (staph). HOW TO USE: Generally, use 2 sprays in each nostril every 4 hours (maximum of 6 times per day) or as directed. If used to reduce staph bacteria in the nose, the dose generally is 2 sprays in each nostril twice daily. After about 3-5 days of use, this product may cause rebound congestion, a condition in which nasal congestion reoccurs after stopping the treatments. Follow all instructions carefully. Continue to use this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection.
