Patient Comments: Ear Wax - Symptoms

What were your symptoms of excessive ear wax?

Comment from: JohnC, 65-74 Male (Patient) Published: April 21

My excessive ear wax symptoms are often asking someone to repeat what they said in a noisy environment, subdued hearing, like someone has covered your ear, and occasional pain deep in the ear canal.

My reaction to excess ear wax is partial deafness from clogging of the in-the-ear part of my hearing aids. The aids have a replaceable "wax trap" in the opening. Without the aids, I get some clogging in the tubes, and have had it cleared with syringe flushing by a professional.
