Patient Comments: Drowning - Risk Factors

Do you know someone who drowned or nearly drowned? What were her/his risk factors (age, medical condition, etc.)?

Comment from: 13-18 Male (Caregiver) Published: November 06

I just recently lost someone close to me, he was found unconscious at the bottom of the pool. When we saw him lying in the hospital bed he did not have any apparent trauma to his head or body. He knew how to swim; he had autism and apparently was left unsupervised.
