PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: thyroid problems (e.g., hyperthyroid, goiter), stomach problems, recent dieting, recent emotional stress, any allergies (especially to iodine or other contrast products). Tell your doctor if you have had, or are going to have, any other medical tests performed before using this medication. Caution is advised when using this drug in children because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication. This drug passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast- feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: thyroid medication (e.g., levothyroxine), iodine-containing products, antacids, H2-antagonists (e.g., famotidine, ranitidine), proton pump inhibitors (e.g., lansoprazole, omeprazole). This product can affect the results of certain lab tests. Make sure laboratory personnel and your doctors know you use this drug. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
