Patient Comments: Colic In Babies - Remedies

Question:What home remedies have been effective for your child's colic?

When babies cry trying to pass gas, try to put them on their stomach. This puts pressure which helps release the gas less painfully. I always do this to my 7week old daughter. Sometimes it doesn't help but it is really good to try because it helps.

We had two babies with colic. They were both big babies (9.6 lbs and 10.4 lbs). We found that the noise of any motor calmed them down quickly. We used the hand held mix master and started on low. On bad days we had to go up to medium and sometimes high but it always calmed them down.
