USES: This combination medication is used in the treatment of stomach disorders such as ulcers or irritable bowel syndrome.
HOW TO USE: Take 30 minutes to one hour before meals unless your doctor tells you otherwise. May be taken with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. Do not take within one hour of an antacid or antidiarrheal medication as effectiveness of this medication will be reduced. Use this medication exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not increase your dose, use it more frequently or use it for a longer period of time than prescribed by your doctor because this drug can be habit-forming. Also, if used for an extended period, do not suddenly stop using this drug without your doctor's approval. Over time, this drug may not work as well. Consult your doctor if this medication stops working well.
SIDE EFFECTS: May cause dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, reduced sweating, blurred vision, headache, nausea or stomach upset. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: difficulty in urination, pounding heartbeat, mood changes. In the unlikely event you have a serious allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: liver disease, kidney disease, thyroid problems, high blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, allergies (especially drug allergies). Limit intake of alcoholic beverages. Alcohol adds to the drowsiness caused by this medication. Because this medication may make you dizzy and/or drowsy, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness such as driving. This medication may reduce sweating which may lead to heat stroke in hot weather. Use caution engaging in strenuous activity during hot weather Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects of this medication. Use with caution. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor for details. This medication may be excreted into breast-milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Using this drug while breast-feeding is not recommended. Consult your doctor.
