Patient Comments: Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Causes

What did the doctor say about the cause of your dilated cardiomyopathy?

Comment from: SANJAY, 55-64 Male (Patient) Published: December 09

The doctor Suggested that it is because: (1) about a decade back I was attacked by a disease named GB (Guillain Barre) syndrome. During that time the infection had very much affected my lungs for a long time and hence it is now because of the same reason the muscles of the LV (left ventricle) portion of the heart is weak. (2) I am also suffering from a hereditary disease like hypothyroidism since a long time, hence also it is experienced.
