Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a mental illness defined by instable moods, relationships, behavior, and self-image. Symptoms include intense bouts of depression, aggression, drug or alcohol abuse, self-injury, anxiety, or anger that last for a few hours. Treatment involves psychotherapy, and antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and/or antipsychotic drugs may be used to treat any symptoms present.
