Patient Comments: Bladder Cancer - Transurethral Surgery Experience

Please share your experience with surgery for bladder cancer.

Comment from: michael, 55-64 Male (Patient) Published: May 24

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in January 2016. I had a transurethral resectionofbladder(TURB) procedure done. Three months later bladder was checked and 2 small tumors had grown back. I am now in the process of receiving BCG treatments for 6 weeks. The cancer was not invasive, I am still having bladder pain even though the doctor said there should be none.

First, my surgery was done in the operating room so the doctor could examine the ureters and use dye. I am allergic to the dye. After that, the tumors were removed in his office and then cauterized.
