I had suffered with occasional vaginal odor for many years. I have been to my doctor many times only to have temporary relief. I found Femanol through a web search and not had an issue since using it. I hope this helps others with bacterial vaginosis.

I have had bacterial vaginosis for about a year. Gynecologists and dermatologists keep giving me creams and ointments. Nothing works, cortisone cream helps. I try not to us it more than twice a week. I changed all my personal products and detergents to no-scent natural. Aveeno products help, but not a cure. I have been taking acidophilus 3 times a day for about 3 months. I tried home remedies. I can't seem to get rid of it. I have had no sex for at least three years. I just keep trying. I have had shingles and have inactive colitis. I think my immune system is very low. Otherwise I am healthy.

I suffered from an extreme amount of discharge on a daily. I started wearing liners but I eventually went to the doctor to tell her my problems, she told me I had bacterial vaginosis and to take the pills. I am currently doing so but I have seen more discharge and my urine is brown. I am hoping after I finish my pills this will all go away.

Within 24 hours of a colposcopy, due to an abnormal Pap smear, I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. This came as a surprise to me because I did not have any symptoms. This is the second time I've been diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis; the last time I was diagnosed was at my last colposcopy about five years ago. Both times I've been prescribed a seven day course of antibiotics. At both times of these diagnoses I've been married to the same sexual partner; no others.

I first encountered bacterial vaginosis (BV) four years ago after a flight from the US to Australia. Only symptom was the stench; very embarrassing. I used panty liners and changed it every couple of hours and then saw my doctor when I returned home. The pH levels were definitely off. It has recurred every time I take a long flight (weird)! My treatment is to use RepHresh, an OTC vaginal gel that has four treatments over 12 days. That definitely removes the odor. Now I start a course before any long trip. Hope this helps others.

I started smelling a very foul odor every time I went to the bathroom, then it got so bad I could smell it through my pants. I waited for 2 months before going to see my doctor because I was hoping it would go away on its own and frankly I was too embarrassed to go see her. But it got to the point that I wouldn"t let my boyfriend touch me anymore and it was taking a toll on our relationship. Once I saw the doctor she did some tests and told me I had bacterial vaginosis. She also told me I could get rid of it with a medication called metronidazole. So, I took 2 pills a day for 7 days, and it has been a week since I stopped taking the pills and the smell is gone but now I have a burning and itching so unbearable that I can barely walk. My doctor can"t see me for a couple of days and I have to bear it till then. I"m hoping something can be done but until I can see her I will be doing some research on what I can use for it.

I thought I had a yeast infection, and tried the OTC products but they just didn't work. The smell was also very different than a yeast infection. When I went to my Gyn for my annual, I mentioned it to him. Sure enough, BV. It took two treatments to resolve, and I've gotten it twice since. It's more of a pain than a yeast infection because it can only be eradicated with prescription creams.
