What were your symptoms of bacterial vaginosis?

I don't know what it is with bv but I have been battling it on and off for years. I heard eating yogurts and a healthy diet can sometimes help the issue at hand, but for some reason it never really stays away for long. It is so agitating to know that something likes can make a women's life so miserable. I guess the only good thing about is it's not venereal disease.

Bacterial vaginitis showed me increased watery discharge, distinctly fishy odor especially strong after sex.

Thank God I am not the only one. It's not fair but at least I know it's not just me, I was beginning to feel like I was dirty or something. The antibiotics seemed to work well for me. It's just a pain getting to the gynecologist all of the time. Cramp on the "social life" ha, but I'm sure there could be worst things in life. Can we start a union and demand an easier solution to treat this problem! I'm sure some doctor could figure it out.

I've been married to the same sex partner for over 20 years now. When I was younger I suffered from BV and/or yeast infections constantly. Over time I learned about wearing cotton underwear, not douching, not wearing tight pants, etc. etc. and I was able to get it under control. Recently I began a more vegan type of diet and read somewhere that an alkaline (vs. acidic) PH imbalance might contribute to BV and a vegan diet is certainly more alkaline than other diets. I'm currently living in Brazil and waiting to find some test strips so that I can rule this out! In the past six months I've taken 4 rounds of Metronidazol and I just want to get the problem under control. PS - it was diagnosed by a US doctor originally. Most doctors know nothing about nutrition and health, let alone how nutrition impacts PH.

I had surgery a few years ago for endometriosis, and since then I have had nothing but problems. I have chronic yeast infections left and right. No treatment helps for longer than a few days. In just a few days ago got diagnosed with BV, what is bothering me is that none of my worst symptoms are even listed as symptoms, such as severe swelling inside me, and extreme pain during sex.

My symptoms were many. If I became sweaty my crotch would burn very badly. The labia felt like it was on fire! The inflammation covered the entire area even the anus. I started seeing a new boyfriend and when I became aroused I started to itch! Talk about embarrassing! I was able to hide it from him though!

Hi I thought I had a yeast infection because discharge was cottage cheese like but went to the doctor today and the test results showed bv. I just finished the cream treatment which did not work. I am taking pills now. I was just diagnosed with diabetes.

For years, it feels like bv is always around the corner. It's horrible. Latest situation: new partner, we started having sex 3 months ago, each month around the time I ovulate I get bv. First treated with gel. Month 2 was oral. Now we are doubling with pill and gel. He smokes cigarettes. I don't. We also enjoy oral sex as well as vaginal sex. I have had an iud for several years. I'm wondering if this info is similar to other situations/symptoms.
