I recently suffered from severe soreness in my right knee which eventually developed into such a painful condition I could not lift my leg or put weight on it to walk. After trying several home treatments, I finally went to an urgent care clinic where x-rays showed advanced arthritis in the joint. I was given a cortisone shot and within 3 hours, the pain was completely gone and I had regained complete use of my leg. It has been four days since I was given the injection and I am still pain-free and able to walk normally. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I have just been told I have RA.I didn't even complain about my aches and pains.I just had some blood work done.I would like to know if there is natural remedies instead of doing drugs with all kinds of side effects.I also have high blood pressure,so I'm leary of using more drugs.I'm only 54 years old. This has totally freaked me out.I am a pretty active person. I take Celebrex. I've tried other NSAIDs, but this medicine is the only one that keeps my osteoarthritis from wrecking my life. I've also found spinal injections of cortisone to be helpful in relieving extreme pain. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I am not sure if have arthritis or not. I have noticed a lot of unusual, and sudden, joint pain and tightness. I hear clicking in my joints from my elbows, hands, knees. All are sporadic. My hands feel uncomfortable, tight and the joints get stuck in motion as I move them. My knee gets sharp pain when I move it into a crossed leg position. It seems like all of this has happened in a matter of a month or two. I also have stiffness all over and headaches. I am not really sure what is wrong and am hesitant to go to the doctor. I am 29 and thought I was a little young to be experiencing this sort of discomfort. Was this comment helpful?Yes

I was in an auto accident years ago. I didn't think anything was wrong with me other than the normal whiplash problems. About 2 hours after accident I began having pain in my thumbs. I went to the emergency room. They assumed it was caused from whiplash of my neck. I went to chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Doctors. I finally went to a Doctor that said I had arthritis and it was due to the accident and he could do surgery on my thumbs. I checked with the Arthritis Foundation and what the doctor said was true. I had surgery on the right thumb with a ceramic ball. It was good for a while. I went back to the doctor and now I have tendonitis in the joint. I can't believe the difference. I have no pain at all. During physical therapy a ganglion cyst came on a tendon on the back of my right hand at the wrist. I had it drained by my primary physician, but that didn't work so back to the surgeon. I would be interested in hearing of anyone who had or has a similar problem. Was this comment helpful?Yes

My daughter was diagnosed with systemic onset juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 15 months. She is now almost 9 years old and is currently in a remission state. She is currently receiving an Enbrel shot (25mg) every 10 days; methotrexate (0.6mL) weekly; and thalidomide (50mg) nightly. This is working great for her now. At least she is off of the Decadron. Lately I started having knee pain.... not swelling or anything.Started pain med. of little use.I now joined the GYM and feeling good yet couldn't walk for a longer time. My DR. diognised it as arthris. I don't want surgery at all. Mentally I am very sharp and feel great about myself.Yet I am worried. I need help.
