Patient Comments: Antiphospholipid Syndrome - Tests

Describe the tests you've had to detect antiphospholipid antibodies and antiphospholipid syndrome.

Comment from: survivor hemet, 55-64 Female (Patient) Published: May 01

I have had repeated deep vein thrombosis (DVT) post knee surgery. Only recently did my primary physician send me for tests to detect antiphospholipid antibodies. In February the lab drew 7 vials of blood. The test came back positive for antiphospholipid syndrome. In April my physician sent me for a second round of testing. The lab drew 10 vials of blood, testing positive again. The diagnosis can only be made after 2 positive test results in a 3 month period.
